𝐈𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐄 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 2022 is a national get-together event that involves engineering undergraduates from various 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 and 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, organized by IChemE Universiti Malaya Student Chapter (𝐈𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐄 𝐔𝐌-𝐒𝐂), in collaboration with University of Nottingham Malaysia IChemE Student Chapter (UNM IChemE SC), and supported by IChemE Palm Oil Processing Special Interest Group (POPSIG). Along the festival, there will be various interactive activities, industrial talk and virtual site tour sessions which aim to foster a strong connection between 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 from different universities and expose the participants to the real world of chemical engineering.

Brief Biography
My name is Beng Leong. I studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Malaya. After graduation, I briefly worked as a sales engineer, specializing in the plastics industry. Then, I moved to Nestlé and worked as an industrial engineer for around 2.5 years before moving to the engineering department in the breakfast cereals plant as a plant engineer for more than 3 years. In this role, I manage a team of engineers and technicians to execute timely preventive maintenance, and implement improvement projects under CAPEX.

Mr. Lam How Enn graduated from Universiti Malaya with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering in 2013. He started out as a Business Analyst working in the IT sector before moving into waste heat recovery business in 2015. At CiTECH Energy Recovery System Malaysia, he gained experience in thermal design of Waste Heat Recovery Unit (WHRU) and Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG). Today he works as a Process Engineer at Desmet Ballestra, a world specialist in edible oil processing plants.

She graduated from University of Nottingham Malaysia with a Master’s Degree of Chemical Engineering (Hons) with first class honour. She is currently a senior process engineer in the R & D department at BRB Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd), Shah Alam. At BRB Malaysia Sdn Bhd, she contributed in generating process control philosophy of the entire project and led junior process engineers in completing the deliverables for EPCC bidding.

He graduated from University of Nottingham Malaysia with a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering with first-class honour. He started his career in Air Liquide Malaysia Sdn Bhd in 2016 as the Customer Engineering SErvices (CES) Engineer before moving on to Leeden National Oxygen Ltd, Singapore in 2019 as the senior project/ maintenance Engineer. Currently, he is working as a project engineer in Gas Ancillary Services Pte Ltd, handling marine projects involving non-destructives tests for LNG vessels and supporting gas-related  operations.

He started his career in ExxonMobil in 2013 and managed multiple assignments within the 9 years, which include as a Process Health and Equipment Health Engineer, Resid Upgrading Process Engineer, and Flexicoker Process Contact Engineer. Resid Upgrading Manufacturing Process Engineering Group Lead in ExxonMobil is where he is currently working.
